NEW YORK, Nov. 8 (UPI) — Clear Channel, Madison Square Garden and The Weinstein Co. say they will produce a New York concert to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief.
The companies previously teamed up for the historic Sept. 11 benefit show “The Concert for New York City.”
“12-12-12: A Concert For Sandy Relief” is being billed as a one-night-only live music event, which will help provide assistance to millions of people in the New Jersey-New York-Connecticut area who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The concert will take place Dec. 12, 2012, at Madison Square Garden. More details on the event and the artist lineup will be released soon, the companies said.
All money raised will be administered directly to those who need it most through the Robin Hood Relief Fund.

Once again, our city, as well as millions of our neighbors in the tri-state area, are in desperate need of our assistance as they recover from Hurricane Sandy and rebuild their lives. We have no doubt that the event we are planning will be filled with unforgettable music, entertainment and that uniquely American spirit of community, compassion and generosity,” James Dolan, executive chairman of The Madison Square Garden Co.; John Sykes, president of Clear Channel Entertainment Enterprises; and Harvey Weinstein, co-founder and chairman of The Weinstein Co., said in a joint statement.
