Actor Ray Winstone: Britain's Being 'Raped' by High Taxes

You don’t mess with Ray Winstone–on screen.

The tough guy actor, best known for roles in The Departed and Rango, channeled his menacing screen work while discussing his country’s tax structure on a British sports program.

The 56-year-old told the show: “I can see myself leaving. I love this country but I’ve had enough.”

“I don’t see what we are being given back,” the 56-year-old added: “I just see the country being raped.”

Winstone isn’t the only European actor to balk at his homeland’s high taxes. French screen icon Gerard Depardieu made good on his threat to leave his native land after seeing so much of his income go to the government.
