Jada Pinkett-Smith: I Tell Will to "Do Whatever You Want"

The persistent rumor that Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, have an open marriage was given new fuel by the Madagascar actress in an interview with HuffPost Live. Protesting the rumor, she said:

No, I think that people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another. But I’ve always told Will: “You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.” Because at the end of the day Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him–or vice versa.

In the summer of 2011, rumors of a divorce flared when there was talk that Jada Pinkett Smith had an affair with Marc Anthony while he was still married to Jennifer Lopez.

But Smith was adamant that nothing was amiss: “Will is my best friend. He’s been by my side for some of the most difficult parts of my life. You always have that for your foundation.”
