Kid Rock Stays True to His Populist Ideals, Will Charge $20 for Best Seats in House

Plenty of rockers bemoan the economic plight of their blue collar fans but stay quiet as their concert ticket prices continue to soar.

Not Kid Rock.

The scruffy, right-leaning star feels our pain. So when he hits the road this summer, along with Uncle Kracker and ZZ Top, fans will have to pony up a mere $20 per ticket no matter where the seats may be.

“I’ve been meeting with Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino for years, trying to figure out how to fix the concert industry,” he says. “We’re all so overpaid. It’s ridiculous. People stopped going to concerts because they can’t afford them. The Rolling Stones are charging $650 per ticket! That just makes me speechless. I love the Stones, but I won’t be attending.”

Will other rock stars, including those who sang for President Barack Obama’s re-election last year, follow in Kid Rock’s footsteps?
