Australian Model Lifts Dress to Reveal 'Gun Control' Written on Stomach

At the May 6 Met Gala after party, model Abbey Lee Kershaw demonstrated her position in the gun debate by raising her dress to show the words “gun control” writ large on her stomach.

The 25-year old Australian is listed 12th in the Top 50 model rankings and lives in New York when she’s not back in her hometown of Sydney.

An Instagram picture of Kershaw from earlier in the day shows her standing in sweats, holding up her top with the letters stenciled on her stomach. It was followed by another snapshot showing the letters had been colored in to spell “gun control.” These pre-Gala pics were apparently intended to show that her gun control stunt wasn’t a last-second decision.

Marcus Wainright, the designer of Kershaw’s dress, “wouldn’t say if he know about the model’s stunt prior to the Gala.” However, he did explain she has modeled his Rag & Bone label before, and that “she’s her own person and a free spirit.”
