Oliver Stone, ACLU Say NSA Domestic Spying Is 'Eating Our Freedom'

Director Oliver Stone and the ACLU have teamed up to decry NSA domestic spying tactics as a stain on the country’s legacy of freedom.

Stone brings up Watergate and the country’s earliest days under the thumb of the British monarchy to hammer home his point, one made with a somber expression accompanied by dramatic music.

“We know all too well the cost of an unaccountable government,” he says, adding, “the government is exploiting our amnesia.”

“I won’t stand idly by while our civil liberties are eaten by the NSA surveillance machine. You shouldn’t either,” he says.

The video directs viewers to an ACLU site where they can alert their local Congressman about their concerns.

One name not checked in the video–Obama.
