Colin Farrell confessed on national television that his last great romance came with a screen icon in her final years.
The star of Saving Mr. Banks may have been linked in the tabloids to a plethora of pretty young starlets, from Lindsay Lohan to Britney Spears, but he told Ellen DeGeneres that one much older woman captured his heart–Elizabeth Taylor.
It was kind of like the last, it feels like in my head, not her, I’m projecting, but the last kind of romantic relationship I had, which was never consummated,’ said Colin, who is now starring in Saving Mr Banks.
The pair met while he awaited the birth of his son and she was in the hospital for a heart condition. Their paths crossed a time or two, and the pair let their show business connections do the rest.
After his rep made some calls, the two started hanging out. ‘That was the beginning of a year and a half or two years of what was a really cool,’ he said.
Farrell adds he wanted to be her eight husband but “we ran out of road.”
