Dakota Johnson Embraces '50 Shades' Sexuality in Mag Closeup

Actress Dakota Johnson enjoys getting into character, particularly when the character in question is part of a widely popular sex novel.

Johnson, the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, stars as Ana in next year’s film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. She slipped into something a little more comfortable for an Elle magazine shoot inspired by the book and film projects.

She said accepting the role meant looking beyond the obvious sex scenes.

Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes, the 24-year-old told Elle. “I think there’s a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down.

Of course, some budoir moments will be shot for fans of the book, and Johnson isn’t shy about recreating some of what exists on the page.

I don’t have any problem doing anything,” she said. “The secret is I have no shame.
