Busta Rhymes Suffers Busted Head After Falling Off Stage at Concert

Rapper Busta Rhymes, once highly acclaimed for his trademark dreadlocks and lightning fast lyrical delivery, took a nosedive off a New York stage early Friday morning but walked away with only a minor head injury.

The artist, whose legal name is Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., was performing at an O.T. Genasis show at New York City’s Webster Hall when, after somebody dropped the bass, he lost his footing.

The rapper fell face down into the crowd, apparently coming to a stop only when his head met the floor.

He was rushed backstage for treatment and never returned, according to the Daily Mail, via TMZ.

Later Friday, Rhymes went on Twitter to confirm that he was okay after the injury:

While head injuries are no laughing matter, sometimes the most serious symptom of a public fall is a bruised ego.
