Mark Wahlberg Wants Religion Back in His Christmas: ‘No Gifts, Go to Church’

In an interview this week with ABC’s Live with Kelly and Michael, Mark Wahlberg discussed his family’s Christmas traditions, even telling the duo of his desire to promote the religious aspects of the holiday.

The actor shared his thoughts on the true meaning of the holidays and the importance of teaching it to his children.

“I’ve been trying to push the religious aspect of Christmas a little more,” he told Kelly and Michael.” “No gifts and go to church.”

Wahlberg also playfully engaged the show’s hosts about the struggles of getting his four children to line up for photographs.

He joked that his wife, Rhea Durham, whom he says, “loves, loves the holidays,” has stymied his idea of a snowy getaway, citing her warm-weather Florida origins.

“I was thinking of going somewhere cold, with the snow, and let the kids sled and snowboard,” he said. “My wife said that would be the end of our marriage. She’s from Florida. She only likes warm weather! I’m happy taking her wherever she wants to go.”
