Iconic comedian and actor Bill Murray had made plans to rush the stage Sunday evening as George Clooney was being honored at the Golden Globes, in order to “Kanye West” him, but changed his mind.
A source told Page Six that Murray, a longtime Clooney friend and a guest at his exclusive wedding, reconsidered after Clooney ruled against the joke, which reportedly was inspired by Kanye West’s infamous stage rush, in which he grabbed a microphone from Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs.
One Hollywood insider was quoted as saying about the proposed prank, “I wish it had happened, it might have made the show more interesting.”
