On Tuesday, Rolling Stone magazine posted an interview with HBO REAL SPORT’s Bryant Gumbel in which the sports commentator said the NRA is “a curse on the American landscape.”

This came up when Gumbel was asked about his appearance in an HBO special last season examining the “Eat What You Kill” movement. In a video from that appearance, Gumbel dives to ground when a hunter fires a gun.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Gumbel said: “There are few things I hate more than the NRA. I mean truly. I think they’re pigs. I think they don’t care about human life. I think they are a curse on the American landscape.”

He stressed that he wanted to be sure those comments were “on the record,” then he explained that his appearance on “Eat What You Kill” was “not a gun story.” So don’t make the mistake of thinking, he did a gun story. Instead, he said, “that was [his] first experience around killing and guns and hunting.”
