While Facebook allows users to edit updates they have already published, Twitter offers no such option. This might now change, thanks to reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
Kardashian took to her Twitter page Friday evening to tell her nearly 34 million followers she had emailed Twitter to talk about the issue, and cited the trouble of having to repost a tweet after misspelling a word:
I just emailed Twitter to see if they can add an edit feature so that when u misspell something u don't have to delete & repost Let's see…

Surprisingly, the 34-year-old E! fixture received a reply from Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey–within minutes–and Dorsey seemed interested in her complaints:
@KimKardashian great idea! We're always looking at ways to make things faster and easier.

The Selfish author soon replied:
Thank you @Jack #FounderOfTwitterUnderstands !!! https://t.co/SzCM03xAH2

Facebook first allowed users the option to edit posts in 2013, so for many, a change at Twitter is long overdue.
Naturally, not all Twitter users are open to the idea of tweet editing, or that Kardashian might be behind the change:
@jack @KimKardashian not a good idea. Twitter is what twits in your mind as write! Leaving edit for Facebook!

Not sure what it says about Twitter that it took Kim Kardashian to make them consider an "Edit Tweet" function pic.twitter.com/ObHOnYDlSW

Users have been asking for an edit function since 4ever, but it's "a great idea" when a Kardashian tweets about it? https://t.co/y1hkTF1Atz
