Bruce Jenner’s highly anticipated E! docu-series I Am Cait debuted this past Sunday, but initial ratings were more disappointing than many projected, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Initial Nielsen ratings reveal that I Am Cait drew an audience of 2.7 million, which is a stronger viewing than an average episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s, but nowhere near what the former male athlete of the year experienced when going public with his gender transition.

The ratings for Jenner’s latest reality TV venture don’t compare to the 17 million viewers his Diane Sawyer interview drew back in April.

Among the 2.73 million who watched the original broadcast this past weekend, more than half were adults age 18-49.

The show did eventually gross 6.2 million viewers during its four airings throughout the evening.

E! and NBCUniversal cable now wait until at least live-plus-three-day ratings come in before they issue releases, per THR.

The networks anticipate initial time-shifting and additional stats later this week.

I Am Cait will run another seven episodes this summer.
