Viewers who still have the final season of Boardwalk Empire sitting on their TiVo to-watch list were fuming Sunday night after the Emmy awards aired a montage that spoiled the finales of several popular shows.
During the broadcast, Emmy producers aired a video tribute to shows that have ended their runs this year, including Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Sons of Anarchy, Two and a Half Men, and various late-nights shows like The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report.
“Welcome back to the Spoiler Awards,” host Andy Samberg told the audience after the montage ended.
Of course, viewers took to Twitter to complain:

The #Emmys just set the land-speed record for most spoilers per minute.

Can someone explain to me whose idea it was to spoil every show ending this last year in a segment on the #Emmys? #spoilers #wtf #fox

So I guess I won't watch any of the shows that ended this year. #spoilers #Emmys
