CBS has ended Wisdom of the Crowd after its initial 13-episode order of the Jeremy Piven-starring crime drama. The network’s decision not to order additional episodes comes as Piven faces multiple accusations of sexual assault.
Last month, CBS announced it was “looking into” the allegations against Piven, which include four women who allege misconduct by the Entourage star that range from “predatory behavior” to groping.
The series sees Piven create a social media-based crowd-sourcing hub to solve crime. While the cancellation of the show comes amid the stars mounting misconduct claims, The Hollywood Reporter notes that the drama struggled to build a consistent audience in its Sunday night slot.

Many will be quick to blame the likely cancellation on Piven’s current predicament, but the fact of the matter is that the show never really performed for the network. Wisdom of the Crowd was mediocre out of the gate, and even Sundays where CBS had late-running football coverage couldn’t really lift the drama. Its latest live-plus-3 averages only give it a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.9 million viewers. Wisdom of the Crowdranks as the least-watched series on CBS’ Sunday lineup, narrowly trailing Madam Secretary — which has critical favor and an affluent audience in its corner. The series was a co-production between Universal Television and CBS Television Studios.
Jeremy Piven has denied any wrongdoing and took to Twitter last week to release what he claimed are the results of a polygraph tests in which he answered questions concerning his first three accusers.
Remaining episodes of Wisdom of the Crowd are reportedly scheduled to air in the show’s Sunday 8 p.m. time slot.
