This morning Juan Williams and Mary Katherine Ham were on America’s Newsroom to discuss election related media bias. Ms. Ham brought up the obvious bias and coverup of Fast & Furious and compared it to the obsessive media coverage of AG Alberto Gonzales and the dismissal of a group of US attorney generals. Mr. Williams quickly dismissed this as pro-Obama campaign because Fast & Furious started before President Obama was in office.
Facts are hard! Operation Fast & Furious, the government gun walking scheme that allowed 2,000 guns to walk into the hands of already dangerous Mexican drug cartels, started in the fall of 2009. That is 9 months after President Obama was sworn in. Don’t forget people have used these weapons to murder Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and 300+ Mexican citizens.
Last week President Obama told this same lie during a Univision town hall. I was quick to correct him along with Jake Tapper at ABC News and The Washington Post. USA Today printed the lie.
The left can try all they want, but the fact remains Fast & Furious started while President Obama was in office. Stop lying about something that has been proven to be true. Until then I will call them out here at Big Journalism.
