NSA Leaker: Media 'Far More Interested' in Girlfriend's Looks than Biggest Surveillance Program in History

On Monday, NSA leaker Edward Snowden did a live online chat with The Guardian (UK). Asked whether the debate over surveillance was panning out as he thought they would, Snowden answered:

Initially I was very encouraged. Unfortunately, the mainstream media now seems far more interested in what I said when I was 17 or what my girlfriend looks like rather than, say, the largest program of suspicionless surveillance in human history.

It’s hard to argue with him there.
