Obama Gives Shout Out to Google in Letter to Fed Employees

On Tuesday, President Obama referred directly to Google as a government success story in his letter to every federal employee: “It was grants from the Department of Energy that helped businesses unlock new sources of renewable energy, and from the National Science Foundation that helped entrepreneurs like the founders of Google change the world.” Coincidentally, Google featured a graphic of Yosemite National Park on its homepage today, purportedly in celebration of the 123rd anniversary of the opening of the park — although clicking on the icon will give readers news stories about the government shutdown, which affects Yosemite.
