On Thursday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC aired an ad for its new website. The ad was a maudlin ode to all the left’s favorite causes: gun control, gay marriage, and abortion. Central to the ad was the presence of Texas state senator and now gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, who was shown twice, and whom crowds are shown celebrating. Here’s the transcript:
Stand up! Stand up with the help of a friend! Stand up for someone you love, with someone you love! For social justice! For as long as it takes! Stand up even though they told you to lie down! Stand up. Introducing the new MSNBC.com.
MSNBC.com has made no bones about its activist rather than journalistic orientation, distinguishing NBCNews.com from MSNBC.com. Nonetheless, this borders perilously close to an in-kind donation to Davis.
