MSNBC Twitter Feed Still Promoting Video of Palin Attack After Apology

More than eight hours after MSNBC host Martin Bashir apologized on Monday for suggesting last Friday that someone should defecate and urinate in former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s mouth, MSNBC’s Twitter feed still has not deleted a tweet promoting a video of Bashir’s segment to its nearly 530,000 followers on Sunday.

As Breitbart News reported, MSNBC doubled down on Bashir remarks, which he later conceded “were wholly unacceptable” and “deeply offensive.” The network’s Twitter account, @MSNBC, tweeted, “WATCH: Martin Bashir gives Sarah Palin a remedial course on the physical scars and humiliation of slavery.” It also included a link to Bashir’s segment.

“They were unworthy of anyone who would claim to have an interest in politics,” Bashir said of his words in the video clip that the network’s Twitter feed is still promoting. “And they have brought shame upon my friends and colleagues at this network, none of whom were responsible for the things that I said.”

The network has yet to take the simple step of removing the footage Bashir conceded was “offensive” from its Twitter feed or website.
