Clinton Advisor: 'Hit Reset Button' on Obamacare

Former Clinton White House legal counsel Lanny Davis says it’s time to “hit the reset button” on Obamacare.

Davis, a long-time Clinton advisor, also conceded that the Affordable Care Act, as envisioned by then-candidate Hillary Clinton (and eventually embraced by Barack Obama) was ill-conceived and not well thought out. “We didn’t think it through,” Davis said.

Appearing on “Mornings on the Mall” on WMAL in Washington DC, Davis told me and co-host Brian Wilson “we didn’t think through the consequences” of an individual mandate and the regulations that triggered private insurance companies to cancel existing plans.

“That was the mistake. It was a huge mistake. We’re paying for it politically–we probably should,” Davis told WMAL. “But it’s not just President Obama, it’s all of us, and I think we need to fix it. Let’s start all over again and see how we can fix this system.”
