The enduring relevance of Critical Race Theory

Rich Lowry has pointed out that President Barack Obama’s second inaugural address proves that Rush Limbaugh was right about Obama’s radicalism.

Rush wasn’t the only one. As Andrew Breitbart continually argued, and as we illustrated in “The Vetting,” Obama’s intellectual foundations and political goals have always been radical, even if he has been prepared to adopt pragmatic means to achieve them.

One of those foundations was Critical Race Theory, which Obama (and friends) picked up from Harvard Law School professor Derrick Bell. Critical Race Theory is linked to the doctrine of socioeconomic rights, which Obama seems to want to pursue–hence the line in his address: “every citizen deserves a basic measure of security and dignity.”

I will have more to say about this next week–more people, including some in Congress, are catching on.
