It’s pretty easy to have a 54% approval rating when the media either refuses to report bad economic news, or manufactures happy talk around news that can’t be ignored. Meanwhile, in the dead of winter, gas prices have hit an all-time high. And I can send you the bill if you’re wondering if this affects home heating costs.
The cruelest tax of all is inflation. It’s a “tax” that hits the poor and those living on the margins hardest. They feel it in everything because the cost of energy affects the cost of everything else.
Despite this and all the other bad economic news, Obama defies gravity thanks to a media that hustles an entire nation into believing what is so, isn’t.
History will not be kind to Obama, but it will be less kind to the media that worships him at the expense of the most vulnerable.
