Who is Chuck Hagel?

In response to Chuck Hagel has fans! They don’t like Israel.:

Sad that he will probably be voted in because the Democrats that opposed his nomination will be strong-armed by Barry to vote him in. I can only imaging what he will say about Israel once he is in his position.

By the way, aside from pushing back on Bush several years back, and his anti-Israel rants, what has Hagel done?
