First Oscar, First Upset: Christoph Waltz Wins Best Supporting Actor Trophy

The Oscar telecast usually serves up one major award before descending into a blurry parade of technical achievements.

Tonight, the Best Supporting Actor Oscar presentation opened the festivities, and Christoph Waltz walked away with the award.

Not Robert De Niro, Philip Seymour Hoffman or Tommy Lee Jones, all favored over the Django Unchained co-star. Maybe Oscar has a few more surprises in store for us. Or, perhaps, Oscar maestro Harvey Weinstein pulled a few more strings than usual.

Suddenly, Anne Hathaway is very worried.
