Choo Choo Biden Also Spending Big Taxpayer Bucks To Fly Home on Weekends

In response to One Night in Paris*:

If only “Uncle Choo Choo’s” exorbitant Parisian hotel bill were the worst of it…. Has anyone yet mentioned that our esteemed VP has been flying home to Wilmington, Delaware
most weekends at a huge cost to taxpayers? Even though he has an government-provided residence in Washington DC, so these trips aren’t even necessary?

Last month, Biden acknowledged that he might have to temporarily take the choo-choo home instead of taking military flights
because of the cursed sequester.

Keith Koffler of White House Dossier reported:

The cost of flying Air Force Two, a military version of the Boeing
757-200, amounts to about $8,800 per hour, according to the most recent
federal data.

The distance between Washington and Wilmington is only about a
hundred miles, but it’s safe to assume that between flying time and the
time spent on the takeoff and landing, the total flight takes at least
45 minutes. That would amount to a roundtrip cost to taxpayers of about
$13,200.

This price still is conservative, though, because it doesn’t include
the cost of transporting Biden to and from the plane, both in Washington
and Delaware.

Biden reportedly likes to golf at an exclusive club in Delaware.

Oh, you thought that at a time of soaring debt, even an Obama government official might make an effort to avoid spending
thousands of taxpayer dollars on himself to accommodate his personal flights of fancy?

Silly you.
