New York Man Charged for Having Three Extra Rounds in Handgun Magazine

Last week, the Lockport police department charged a resident under the New York Secure Ammunition Firearms Enforcement Act for possession of a magazine loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition. 

Paul A. Wojdan, who was pulled over in a traffic stop, was charged and arrested when he turned over his loaded semiautomatic handgun from his glove compartment. The gun was legal, however, there were 10 rounds of 9mm ammuniton found in the magazine, which is illegal under the law. The SAFE act outlaws knowlingly possessing a magazine that has more than seven rounds.  

Wojdan, was charged with “unlawful possession of an ammunition-feeding device and posted $250 bail.” Lockport Police Chief Lawrence Eggert explained“It’s on the books, and if we see it, we have to do something about it.”
