Fired Politico Reporter Could Only Find Work in Retail

Joseph Williams was on top of the media world: a White House reporter for Politico who appeared regularly on MSNBC. Then, as he puts it, “My plunge into poverty happened in an instant.

A racially-charged attack against Mitt Romney, a crude Twitter joke about Ann Romney (first reported by Breitbart News), and a headline about Williams pleading guilty to assaulting his ex-wife left Williams unemployed, penniless and homeless.

Thrust into the Obama economy, before finally finding work for a DC non-profit, Williams lived on unemployment and then worked in retail at a sporting goods store.

Quite a story.
