EBONY Apologizes to Raffi Williams and the Black Republican community

In response to Reince Priebus Requests Apology From Ebony Editor For Racialist Insult of RNC Staffer:

This afternoon, in response to RNC President Reince Priebus letter, EBONY apologized to “Raffi Williams and the Black Republican Community.”

EBONY acknowledged “Senior Editor Jamilah Lemieux’s lack of judgment on her personal Twitter account” and went on to say that the “tweets in question do not represent our journalistic standard, tradition or practice of celebrating diverse Black thought.”

The RNC was quick to respond:

The RNC appreciates and accepts their response, and Raffi has accepted their apology. Despite the actions of one editor, we’re glad to see EBONY embracing a higher standard of journalistic integrity.
 As Chairman Priebus said, we hope “we can use this unfortunate episode as a catalyst for greater engagement and understanding between the Republican Party and black America.”
