Texas Man Pleads Guilty To Over 27000 Files Worth of Child Pornography

MCALLEN, Texas — A man from the South Texas border has pleaded guilty to having more than 27,500 pictures and videos of child pornography. 

Earlier this week, 26-year-old Alberto Garza Gaona when before U.S. District Judge George Kazen where he entered his guilty plea and now awaits his sentencing hearing where he faces a term of 5-20 years in federal prison. 

Agents with Homeland Security Investigations and deputies with the Webb County Sheriff’s Department kicked off an online child porn operation in February  where they found various illegal files had been downloaded to an specific Internet Protocol address which they tracked down to Garza, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas show.  

Authorities got a search warrant to search Garza’s home on June 4, 2014 and seized various storage devices and computer equipment from his bedroom. The agents had the equipment analyzed by HSI computer experts who discovered 27,134 pictures, 27 videos and 497 remnants of videos that had been deleted all depicting child pornography.
