Dope Tunes: Music Chain Offering Medical Marijuana Cards

Amoeba Music record store has reportedly become a one-stop shop for both music and marijuana, according to SFweekly.com. The popular San Francisco-based record store is offering medical cannabis cards via a company named Green Evaluations that is technically operating out of an office space in the Amoeba building.

The issuing physician, Dr. Francesco Isolani, is listed on 420 Magazine—an online periodical that “exists to support the repeal of all Cannabis prohibition laws and penalties throughout the world,” and has been “creating cannabis awareness since 1993,” according to the website’s mission statement.

Patients can reportedly get their double dose of music and marijuana between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily as the clinic operates on the same timetable as Amoeba Music store.

Medical marijuana dispensaries have been popping up increasingly throughout California. In April, a proposition which approves a tax on medical marijuana passed in Long Beach, though dispensaries are not yet legal there. Revenues from Measure A would be deposited in the city’s general fund, which would likely be allotted for use towards emergency services, infrastructure, and parks.
