LOS ANGELES, California — Social media is ablaze with images from a historic conflagration that wiped out a developing, wood-based mixed commercial and residential structure. The fire forced the closure of the 101 Freeway in both directions.
Below are some images from users and various news outlets that took to Twitter and other social media sites to share with the world their perspectives on what they witnessed.

It is not yet known what the source of the massive fire was. Police are investigating arson.
