A pair of California teachers who turned a camping trip involving underage male high school students into a drugs, alcohol and sex-induced weekend are facing sex charges–and, if convicted could spend a combined 23 years in prison.
Melody Lippert, 38, and Michelle Ghirelli, 30, reportedly used cocaine and alcohol on five male students in order to lower their inhibitions during a two-day beachfront camping trip to San Clemente in December, according to the New York Daily News. They have both been charged with unlawful sexual intercourse and giving controlled substances to minors.
Both women are employees of the Covina-Valley Unified School District.
The duo had previously been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, notes the Daily News. Ghirelli is reportedly facing an additional charge of copulating with a minor.
Lippert reportedly faces up to 10 years and six months in state prison and Ghirelli up to 11 years and eight months if convicted.
