Henry Solis, 27, a probationary LAPD officer, is being sought for his alleged involvement in the murder of Salome Rodriguez, Jr., 23, which occurred on Friday morning around 3:30 a.m.

The Pomona police stated that Solis was off duty when the murder occurred and did not report to work. The police added that the two men may have been struggling with each other; Rodriguez was shot in his lower torso several times and died at the USC Medical Center.

ABC News Los Angeles reported that Rodriguez’s cousin Barbara Lopez said, “I’ve caught mom and dad breaking down, but they actually look a bit more at ease knowing that they have a person of interest.”

On Sunday, police found Solis’ silver Volkswagen Jetta near the Vive Tequila Lounge and Nightclub in Pomona, where the two men allegedly fought before the shots were fired outside, according to the New York Daily News. Solis had not yet completed his probationary period as an officer.
