Surprise: Android Bot Urinates on Apple Logo on Google Maps

On Friday, just below Rawalpindi, Pakistan, near the Soan River on Google maps, Team Android discovered an image of the iconic Android “bot” urinating on an image of the iconic Apple logo.

The Daily News suggested that it may be a play on the frequently seen car decal of Calvin peeing on different car logos (or really anything). Others speculate that it is more than a coincidence that the image appeared on the same day that Apple launched the debut of the much anticipated apple watch.

So far, no one really knows for sure how the image got there or whether its mapping  coordinates and the date of its placement is meaningful.

According to Mashable, there’s a good chance that a Google user may have used Map Maker—a tool that allows users to contribute to the site– to create the image.

“Even though edits are moderated, occasionally the odd inaccurate or cheeky edit may slip through our system,” a Google spokesman said. “We’ve been made aware of the issue and are working on getting it removed.”
