On February 14, an Ontario, California homeowner shot and killed an alleged intruder “during a short struggle” in the entryway of the home.

The incident occurred just after 5 a.m.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ontario police Officer Jorge Ramirez said the homeowner’s wife called 911 to say “her husband opened fire on a man who was trying to forcibly enter their home.” Police arrived to find the suspect — a 26-year-old Los Angeles man — dead in the entryway of the home.

ABC 7 reports that the homeowner shot the alleged intruder “during a short struggle.”

Police said the shooting appeared to be an incident of self-defense, so no charges were brought against the homeowner.
