On June 2 a 9-year-old Fresno student refused to comply when told he had to remove his Trump hat while at school.

The student–Logan Autry–attends Powers-Ginsburg Elementary.

According to The Fresno Bee, Autry had attended a Trump rally just “days before” wearing the “Make American Great Again” hat and when the principal told him to take it off he said, “No.”

YourCentralValley.com quoted Autry saying:

They told me to take my hat off because it brings negative emotions to the other children who don’t like him. They were saying they didn’t like Trump. They were saying he was stupid. I had to explain to them what Donald Trump was actually doing.

Autry’s uncle said his nephew’s support of Trump is genuine. He said Autry wants to be a politician when he grows up and that he follows the twists and turns of the current presidential campaign.

Autry said the “Make America Great Again” hat is his favorite and he believes the First Amendment protects his right to wear it.
