Jerry Seinfeld and Patton Oswalt Mock Keith Olbermann's 'Beyond Lateral' Move to Sports

Comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Patton Oswalt had some fun at Keith Olbermann’s expense in Seinfeld’s web series “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee.” In the latest episode, Seinfeld and Oswalt discussed Olbermann’s leap from firebrand political commentary to his role as a late-night sports wrap-up show anchor.

Partial transcript as follows:

SEINFELD: Let me ask you this question: When you watch Keith Olbermann now, doing a wrap up of a baseball game, after being this insane political demagogue. And I like Olbermann, but this career move is a pretty funny one to me.”

OSWALT: It’s beyond lateral — it’s sideways reversal. He was all but calling out the commander-in-chief to step down, and now he’s saying —

SEINFELD: You can’t take a lead that big off of second in the seventh inning, with the same energy.

OSWALT: Imagine driving a car 90 mph, then just throwing it in reverse to see what happens. That’s what he’s doing.
