Hillary: A Child Getting Across the Border 'Doesn't Mean They Get To Stay'

Tuesday during her CNN town hall, former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton responded to the current humanitarian crisis of unaccompanied minors pouring across the U.S.-Mexico border by distancing herself politically from President Barack Obama. In 2012, Obama signed an executive order to stop deporting young illegal immigrants who entered the United States as children if they meet certain requirements.

Clinton said the children should be returned to their countries of origin once family members can be found adding we don’t want to encourage more children coming so “we have to send a clear message just because your child gets across the border that doesn’t mean they get to stay.”
