Turley: Judge ‘On Good Ground’ in Trump Asylum Ruling

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” George Washington Law Professor and Fox News Contributor Jonathan Turley praised a federal court ruling blocking President Trump’s order requiring asylum seekers to enter the US legally through a port of entry, but noted that many of the groups praising the current ruling were pleased when President Obama re-wrote immigration law unilaterally.

Turley stated, “This judge is on good ground, that President Trump is essentially rewriting a critical part of the immigration laws unilaterally. What I find interesting is that many of these groups applauded President Obama when he was doing it. So, I think that what is clear, if anything, is hypocrisy has no borders. I mean, the — many of these people were delighted when President Obama, when he couldn’t get something through Congress, simply ordering it unilaterally, and many of us said that was unconstitutional.”
