This does look as though it might be a better movie than the first one, not that that’s a very high bar. That closing line from Bruce Willis is hilarious and telegraphs that the new installment might add something else its predecessor lacked, a sharp sense of humor.
However, it’s hard not to resent Hollywood for stripping, of all things, G.I. Joe of its uniquely American heritage. This burns up an awful lot of goodwill. Can you imagine Hollywood doing such a thing to any other group? They wouldn’t even consider it, unless it was to protect some sacred cow.
Muslim terrorists come to mind.
