Despite Ratings Trend, HBO Orders 4th 'Girls' Season Before 3rd Season Airs

You have to wonder about HBO. The network announced at Thursday’s Television Critics Association press tour that it has already ordered a fourth season of the raunch-fest show Girls even before the third season has aired.

The season two finale last year only drew 632,000 viewers, a 37% slide from the one million who watched the season one finale.

Unfortunately for HBO, it has a social agenda to maintain. A little open-mindedness might help it in its coffers; as has been pointed out, The Bible miniseries on History Channel had 10.8 million viewers for a single telecast.
