Super Bowl Halftime Show: Bruno Mars, Chili Peppers Let U.S. Troops Share the Stage

Bruno Mars didn’t suffer any wardrobe malfunctions Sunday during the Super Bowl halftime show, and guest stars the Red Hot Chili Peppers didn’t strip down to their signature sock ensembles.

The focus during the halftime show was on spectacle and songs, with a tribute to the men and women of the U.S. military added midway through.

Mars, the fleet-footed showman, dazzled in a shiny gold suit while backup dancers mirrored some of his best moves. He performed Locked Out of Heaven, Treasure and Runaway Baby before the Chili Peppers pounced on stage for a group rendition of Give It Away.

The set shifted gears after the band mashup, allowing several members of the military to dedicate the next song to their family members. Mars completed the tribute by crooning a tender version of Just The Way You Are.
