Gérard Depardieu Promotes 'Proud to be Russian' Watches

French actor Gérard Depardieu hated the new taxes in France so much he fled to Russia. The star received citizenship in early 2013, with President Vladimir Putin personally delivering Depardieu’s passport.

However, Depardieu does not have a problem with Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine. He is a spokesman for Cvstos’s “Proud to be Russian” watch line.

A post on the Cvstos Facebook page from earlier this month shows Depardieu – also sporting a pair of fetching leopard-print glasses – dressed in the new Challenge Jetliner watch, which features Russia’s national crest of a double-headed eagle picked out in red gold. The new watches cost up to $30,000 (£18,000).

On March 16, over 90 percent of Crimeans voted to leave Ukraine and join Russia. Despite the numerous voting violations, Russia accepted the vote and quickly annexed the peninsula. The international community does not recognize the vote and imposed sanctions against Putin’s inner circle. They also promised more actions in Russia if they continue to threaten Ukraine and NATO allies.

Breitbart News reached out to Depardieu’s agency, but has not received a comment. There will be an update if one is received.
