Channing Tatum Describes Himself as High Functioning Alcoholic

Actor Channing Tatum may want to walk back his latest interview, or at least be the designated driver for a spell.

Tatum, the star of Magic Mike and the upcoming 22 Jump Street, told an interviewer he considers himself a “functioning alcoholic.”

I probably drink too much, you know,” the “22 Jump Street” star says in GQ’s June issue. “My wife, that’s what she bought into … I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess. There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time.

Tatum recently signed on to play Gambit in an upcoming X-Men superhero spinoff project and will appear in a Magic Mike sequel next year.
