TEL AVIV — Palestinian Legislative Council member Ashraf Jomaa, one of the top officials in the Fatah movement in Gaza led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, launched a Palestinian initiative on Thursday in the form of a coalition of organizations called the Jerusalem Revolution.

Jomaa called on the various Palestinian factions and organizations to join the initiative and begin their activities by making Friday “a day of outrage that will include huge marches flying only the Palestinian flag.”

In a special statement announcing the new initiative, it was said that it includes organizations and individuals from the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Israeli-Arab organizations and figures. Jomaa called on Palestinians to make every effort to have President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel rescinded “no matter what the cost.”

Jomaa called on the Palestinian leadership to declare that “all options are on the table with no restrictions.”

The Palestinian official also called for the boycott of “American products in addition to Israeli ones.”

Jomaa claimed his so-called Jerusalem Revolution could potentially take many steps to have Trump’s decision rescinded if diplomatic efforts at the UN are ineffective.

Jomaa appealed to the heads of the new coalition, the Palestinian leadership and Arab countries not to give into “pressure” from Trump.
