Watch: Israel Fires Warning Shots as Palestinian ‘Naval Riot’ Attempts Blockade Breach

124 News reports: The Israeli military fired on several Palestinian boats attempting to breach the naval blockade of Gaza on Monday, during a waterborne version of the long-running ‘Great March of Return’ protests.

Palestinian media said some 55 vessels departed from a Gaza harbor and sailed toward Israel, while others attempted to send small rafts of burning tires toward the Israeli shore. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) described the events as a “naval riot”.”

In response, IDF troops fired warning shots in the air and near the vessels,” a military statement said. “No damage or injuries to IDF troops were reported and the Israeli naval border was maintained.” Videos posted to YouTube showed several small vessels speeding away from Israeli waters as bullets threw up spray in the water.
