UK Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls Refused Entry to Bilderberg Conference

Britain’s shadow chancellor Ed Balls was left red faced after security at the Bilderberg meeting in Copenhagen refused to allow him in.

Security outside the Five Star Marriott Hotel was evidently unimpressed with Mr Balls, who was firmly but politely rebuffed by uniformed officers according to Guido Fawkes.

The Bilderberg Conference is an annual meeting of some of the most powerful and influential people in the world so it is perhaps understandable that staff were left surprised that Ed Balls had been invited. Mr Balls advised the last Labour government on economics, and was one of the key architects of the financial meltdown that took place in 2008.

Since then he has worked closely with Labour leader Ed Miliband to deny British people a referendum on Europe, oppose tax cuts and pledging to renationalise land that developers do not use quickly enough.

Security around the approximately 150 invited guests is normally tight at Bilberberg. Senior staff are said to want to keep the top level economists, academics and business leaders away from passing members of the public.

It is unclear why Mr Balls was not allowed in, although some have speculated that staff found it impossible to believe that anyone would place him amongst the sharpest minds in the world.
