UK Jihadi Pair Admit Terror Charges

Two British men who travelled Syria to join rebel fighters have this afternoon admitted to preparing to carry out terrorist acts, Press Association reports.

Mohammed Nahin Ahmed and Yusuf Zubair Sarwar, childhood friends who are both 22, spent eight months in Syria last year after contacting Islamist extremists within the UK.

The men were arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport by West Midlands Police’s counter-terrorism unit when they returned home from the country in January.

Appearing at London’s Woolwich Crown Court today, they both pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism acts.
